2011 Lincoln MKT SUV Review
The 2011 Lincoln MKT is a luxury crossover sports utility vehicle that comes in two trim levels; the Lincoln MKT and the Lincoln MKT with ECO Boost. The base Lincoln MKT’s powertrain is a 3.7 liter 24-valve Duratec engine that delivers 268 horsepower @ 6,500 rpm and 267 lb ft of torque @ 4.250 rpm that is particularly regulated to supply even power distribution with negligible roughness and vibration. For the 2011 Lincoln MKT ECO Boost the powertrain is a 3.5-liter twin turbocharged EcoBoost V8 that produces 355 horsepower @ 5,700 rpm and 350 lb ft of torque @ 3,500 rpm. A pressurized direct injection aids in doing away of the “turbo lag” related to other turbocharged engines.
Both engines have an EPA rating of 17 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway or a combined 19 mpg. This fuel economy is due to aggressive Deceleration Fuel Shut-Off or ADFSO, two-speed fuel pump, ultimate drive gearing and a maximized transmission.
The 2011 Lincoln MKT engines are mated with a 6-speed Select Shift automatic transmission with paddle shifters attached to the steering wheel that presents the driver the option of either manual or fully automatic operation. The base model of the 2011 Lincoln MKT comes with a front – wheel drive with an AWD or all-wheel drive as an option while said AWD is standard for the MKT with EcoBoost.
A new-fangled suspension system is provided the 2011 Lincoln MKT that is characterized by a 1:1 shock absorber power ratio. This results in an enhanced balance between control and reactive handling plus an even and smooth ride. The design of the suspension expands rear segregation and allows the use of a 20-inch wheel.
The 2011 Lincoln MKT is equipped with the latest in safety features that include a an Electronic Stability control, Antilock Disc Brakes, blind spot monitoring system, side curtain airbags for all three rows, cross traffic alert, rear view camera, front seat side-impact airbags, My-Key System and 911 automatic dial upon air use. An optional feature is the Adaptive Cruise Control with Collision Warning with Brake Support, a system that shows an alert on the windshield when the sensors perceive slow-moving vehicles in front and then forewarns the brake system to lessen braking distance for a resulting emergency stop.
2011 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid Review
2011 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid Luxury at Affordable Price
There is something about luxury cars that the majority of people like but the price of them often causes the problem. The 2011 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid (FWD) is changing that and is allowing more people to experience what it feels like to drive in luxury. The hybrid version of this vehicle is approximately $34,000 which is the same price as the non-hybrid version and this is unusual. Manufacturers normally charge more for the hybrid but now a person can be more fuel efficient and help to save the environment with less cost.

The vehicle is recorded to stand at 41 mpg in the city which represents good fuel usage for this type of vehicle considering its size and power. This is partly because it uses the same engine and motor parts as other cars such as the Ford Fusion and the Mercury Milan.

Of course since this is a luxury vehicle, it is not only the mpg that grabs the attention – there are also the features. The seats are trimmed with leather and the other trims are designed from walnut. The seats have heating and cooling systems in them and there are rain sensing wipers as well as a keyless entry system to start the car. The Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) and the voice activated technology known as Ford’s SYNC make the vehicle a safer one to drive.
Not only does the vehicle have great features for comfort and for safety but it is reported to be more pleasurable to drive and quieter than some of its major competitors such as the Lexus HS250h and is even compared to the silence as found in the library.
For an individual who wants a luxury car but also needs to spare some expense, this could be the model to try out. There are plenty of features to enhance the ride and the individual can feel good about the cost and the environment.
